Directions and Parking

Directions
The race will be staged from the Pavilion at City Park in Denver. City Park is an urban park and neighborhood in Denver, Colorado located at 1700 N York St, Denver, CO 80206. The park is 330 acres and is located in east-central Denver. The park contains the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Ferril and Duck Lakes, and a boathouse. City Park is bordered on the south by 17th Ave, on the east by Colorado Blvd, on the north by 23rd Ave and on the west by York St.

Parking
There are numerous parking lots surrounding City Park. Please click the image below for the locations of these lots. The two largest parking lots in the general vicinity of City Park are at the East High School track and at the National Jewish Center visitor lot. Parking may also be available in the lots between the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Please do not park in the lot or garage directly in front of the Museum. The parking lots at Gove Middle School and Manual High School can also be used. Parking is also available on the neighborhood streets surrounding City Park.

Please consider purchasing tickets to the Denver Zoo if you plan to park in the Zoo parking lot.

You can also pick up your race packet on race morning at the race site. Race day packet pick-up closes at the start of the last race.

Course Info

The race will utilize the standard certified City Park 5K course, but will be run in the reverse direction. The 10K is two laps of the 5K course. Aid stations will be located at mile 1.5 in the 5K. They will have water and only. Bicycles, skateboards, and roller skates are not allowed in the race.

Awards

There will be an awards ceremony near the finish line after the race. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winner in each race as well as the top three in each age group. Age groups are as follows:

5K: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29…… up to 80 and over
10K: 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39…… up to 80 and over

Time Limit

There is a time limit of 1 hour and 40 minutes due to park restraints. This is 16 minutes per mile for the 10K and 32 minutes per mile for the 5K.

Can’t make it to the race?

Can’t make it to one of our races on race morning but still want to participate or support our charity? Then choose the virtual option when registering. Virtual packets will include a shirt, medal and bib number and will be shipped to you free of charge. Click here for more info on our virtual run option.

Weather and Safety Issues

We all know that the weather in Colorado is day to day. The race will be run no matter what the weather! Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates are not allowed in the race.

Entry fees are non-refundable. This means once we have received your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate.

We allow you to transfer your entry to another person for a fee of $10. This is only allowed up until seven days before the event. We also allow you to transfer your entry to another event produced by Colorado Runner Events for a fee of $10. This is allowed up until 14 days before the event.

We can also mail your packet to you free of charge if the above options have closed.

Yes, if you register for the race and then would like to switch to a shorter distance, please let us know a day before the race (so we can update the database with the correct bib numbers). There are no refunds if you switch to a shorter distance.

If you would like to go up in distance, you will need to pay the difference in price from your entry to the distance you would like to run before we will switch you. If you do this after the price break, you will also need to pay the increase in price break (IE – you paid $50 for the early registration 25K but would like to switch to the 50K two weeks before the race, you will owe the difference between $50 and $85, which is $35).

Colorado Runner Events will not be cancel or postpone an event due to cold temperatures, snow, rain, wind or any other inclement weather.

This will allow you to either login or create and account to resend your confirmation email.

We are sorry to hear that your results are not showing up online. Sometimes, there is a malfunction with the timing tag attached to your bib. Our race timer, HAL Sports, uses multiple back up systems in case this happens. Please click here to contact them and they will respond to your inquiry and post your results. Their staff is out timing races on the weekends, so someone may not respond until they are back in the office.

We do allow dogs to run with runners. Please start at the back of the pack if you are running with your dog. All dogs within the park must be leashed at all times and dogs running with runners must be confined to a six foot leash or shorter. No retractable leashes are allowed. Failure to comply will results in a disqualification.

Strollers are allowed at all of our races except for trail races.

Headphones are discouraged as you may not be able to hear faster runners coming from behind you.

Yes, you may walk any distance at any of our events, as long as you can finish within the time limit if there is one.
