The race will be staged from the Pavilion at City Park in Denver. City Park is an urban park and neighborhood in Denver, Colorado located at 1700 N York St, Denver, CO 80206. The park is 330 acres and is located in east-central Denver. The park contains the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Ferril and Duck Lakes, and a boathouse. City Park is bordered on the south by 17th Ave, on the east by Colorado Blvd, on the north by 23rd Ave and on the west by York St.

Parking is available in the neighborhoods surrounding City Park. We are expecting upwards of 4,000 runners, so please plan accordingly.

$900 USATF Colorado Championships 5K Prize Purse
The 2017 Pumpkin Pie 5K will play host to the USATF Colorado State Championship. Runners wishing to be considered part of the USATF Colorado 5K Championship must have a current (2017) and valid USATF membership with the Colorado Association. In order to be eligible for USATF Colorado Championship awards the runner must be a Colorado Resident and eligible to compete internationally for USATF; this includes but is not limited to being a US Citizen and having good standing within USATF Colorado. Prize money for the 5K will broken down as follows:

• Open Men and Women: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50
• Masters Men and Women: 1st $75, 2nd $50, 3rd $25

You do not need to be a USATF member to participate in the race. However, you must be a member of USATF to be considered for USATF Championship awards.

The top overall male and female winners in both the 5K and 10K will get a special award. Gift Certificates from Runner’s Roost will be awarded to the top three in each age group in the amounts of $20, $15, and $10. Gift certificates will be valid at all Denver Metro Runner’s Roost stores. Age group are as follows:

9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over

Timing and Scoring
This race will be scored using the MyLaps disposable bib tag. The race bib is disposable and does not need to be returned. Please ensure the following in order to receive an accurate time.
1. Make sure your race bib is clearly visible on the front of your outermost clothing and is not covered by a jacket, coat, race belt or water bottle.
2. Please do not fold or wrinkle the bib.
3. Please pin your bib in all four corners.
4. If you are running double (both races), you will be given two bibs at packet pick-up. You will need to wear the bib for the 5K in only the 5K and then switch your bib to the 10K bib for the 10K.

Weather & Safety Issues
We all know that the weather in Colorado is day to day. The average low temperature in November is 23 degrees and the average high temperature is 54 degrees. There may be snow or ice on the course, there may be rain, it may be muddy, and it may be nice. We will just have to wait and see what shows up on race day. The race will be run no matter what the weather!

Bicycles, skateboards, and roller skates are not allowed in the race.
