Race Day Protocols for Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30, 2020

  • Reduced racer touch points to minimize physical interaction
  • Additional cleaning and sanitization of areas, such as toilets, check in area, etc.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at all areas, which include registration table, aid station tables, and finish area.
  • Face masks, face shields, and gloves will be provided for all event staff and volunteers
  • Participants will be required to wear face coverings while interacting with anyone not in their immediate party, including at the start/finish area.
  • Participants will be asked to wear a face covering on the course when they encounter other runners.
  • The race will start with individuals in a time trial format to ensure radical social distancing throughout the entire race course.
  • We will utilize cones with signs, ground stickers, and flour marks to help keep runners 6 feet apart at the start line area.
  • The race will be split into two days.
    • Saturday from 7:30 – 8:00am 8 mile start is open
    • Saturday from 8:30 – 9:00am 4 mile start is open
    • Sunday from 6:30 – 7:00am 50K start is open
    • Sunday from 7:30 – 8:00am 25K start is open
  • We will have a maximum of 250 total participants each day.
  • On Saturday, the finish line will close at 11:00am and on Sunday the finish line will close at 3pm.
  • After finishing, runners will have prepackaged food and drink available to take with them in a designated area.
  • No awards ceremony onsite. Awards can be picked up at Runners Roost Lone Tree during regular business hours for two weeks post event.
  • No race day registration will be allowed to limit physical interactions and help with social distancing.
  • Timing will be based on chip time.
  • Signs will be placed along the race route two weeks in advance of the race warning normal trail users of the event and encouraging them to avoid the area.
  • Each participant will agree to not attend the event if showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or have come in contact with someone with positive COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
